ABOUT US

As our community's premiere resource on issues related to advanced illness, United Hospice of Rockland (UHR), a Medicare certified, NYS licensed and JCAHO accredited hospice has taken a leadership role in responding to the important subject of advance directives. UHR has been a resource to our community since 1988- providing care, hope, comfort and improved quality of life to individuals and their families facing serious illness.

After nearly 20 years of serving the people of Rockland and Orange Counties, UHR has earned the trust and respect of local residents and health care providers. Thus, it was only natural that our experiences would lead us to develop www.Assuringyourwishes.org. www.AssuringYourWishes.org will soon become its own non-profit corporation.

Far too often, we have seen family members gathered around the bedside of a loved one who was ill and they did not know the questions to ask or did not know how to answer the questions posed by health care professionals regarding the choices that needed to be made.

UHR has collaborated with the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS) to market this turn-key service.
